KOM Software Joins Leading Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA)
Ottawa, ON Canada – April 4, 2001
KOM Software announced today that the company has joined The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA), as a full voting member.
SNIA was formed in 1997 to serve as a point of cohesion for developers of storage, storage networking, system integrators, application vendors, service providers and IT professionals. As an umbrella organization, SNIA embraces all storage technologies and seeks to deliver architectures, education and services that will provide trusted storage solutions for the IT community.
"KOM Software is pleased to be joining SNIA as a full voting member," said Jeffrey Dale, President of KOM Software. "Our goal in joining is to assist SNIA in their efforts to educate and enhance organizations understanding of data storage management and in particular, Storage Virtualization."
In joining SNIA, KOM Software has joined other companies such as BMC Software, Cisco Systems, Compaq Computer Corporation, IBM, EMC, and Veritas Software who are also voting members.
In January 2001, SNIA opened the largest vendor-neutral technology centre in the world. In addition, SNIA has formed work groups, a technical council, and consumer councils, all in the continuing efforts to meet their mandates.
