KOM Networks Announces Support For Plasmon's G-Series MO Libraries
New Versions of OptiStorm® and OptiServer® Take Advantage of Plasmon's State-of-the-art Storage System

KOM Networks, a leader in innovative data management software solutions, today announced that it has certified Plasmon's latest generation of MO (Magneto-Optical) libraries, the G-Series with version 5.1.1 of its OptiStorm and with version 5.5.2 of its OptiServer storage management software.

The 5.25-inch G-Series Libraries are based on a revolutionary architectural platform providing enhanced levels of 24X7X365 reliability, performance, and scalability. Plasmon's G-Series Libraries support the Sony 9.1GB-14x MO Drive for both rewritable and WORM (Write Once Read Many) media. The G-Series Libraries are specifically designed to optimize today's 9.1GB-14x drives and tomorrow's Ultra Density Optical (UDO) drive and media technology. Applications for G-Series Libraries include document imaging, medical imaging, financial, government, utilities, insurance, audio/video recording, e-commerce and, e-mail.

Optional features include Bar Code Scanning for improved media management and quick data recovery, and Ten Slot Bulk Magazines for simultaneous import and export of up to 10 pieces of media.
OptiStorm version 5.1.1 for WindowsNT4.0/Windows2000 and OptiStorm version 5.5.2 for UNIX and VMS with support for the Plasmon G-Series is available immediately.
