KOMpliance & OnBase FAQs

What does KOMpliance do with files purged/deleted by OnBase?

KOMpliance is integrated with OnBase at the code level. As such, each and every OnBase document or image stored in KOMpliance is tagged for exclusive management by OnBase. This means that only OnBase can initiate the destruction of a document stored on a KOMpliance protected Diskgroup. When the OnBase retention period for a file expires, and the purge operation is triggered through OnBase, KOMpliance purges/deletes the document using its built-in compliant secure erase operation.

In fact, any allowed delete operation results in a purge/delete operation of the file and its contents. This is because KOMpliance automatically implements all of the OnBase file handling rules for privacy, retention periods, legal holds, etc.
