KOMpliance & OnBase FAQs
We have Active Directory Polices, why do we need KOMpliance?
Active Directory and ACLs are not enough to ensure complete data security or to prevent accidental or malicious modification or destruction of valuable documents. These vulnerabilities are the reason why you use Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware software applications in your servers and desktops.
The Active Directory ACL security model is actually the reason why sensitive documents and data are vulnerable to the threats of accidental or malicious operations executed in the context of users and administrators with local access or even domain admin / backup access across the network. The OnBase Integration for KOMpliance addresses these vulnerabilities and prevents all attempts to manipulate the OnBase secured documents externally, outside the control of OnBase.
No user can delete destroy, overwrite or rename a secured OnBase document that is stored on a KOMpliance managed Diskgroup. These documents are tagged with a seal of authenticity to show that they were created by OnBase and that OnBase has full and exclusive control over their disposition for their entire existence in the OnBase.
