KOM Networks' OptiServer® supports Cygnet 1800

KOM Networks is now shipping a new release of their OptiServer product which supports the Cygnet 1802 and 1803 jukeboxes. These jukeboxes may contain between one and five 12" optical drives. The number of disks which may be stored in the jukebox is dependant upon the type of drive which is configured as well as the number of drives which are installed. The following 12" optical drives are supported in the Cygnet 1800 jukebox: LMSI LD1200 and LD4100, Sony, and the ATG. The capacity of the jukebox can be as high as 12 terabytes.
OptiServer is available for any VAX system with a Q-bus, UNIBUS, BI-bus or built-in SCSI running VMS 4.6 or later.
OptiServer provides control over a jukebox of optical disks via a set of CL extensions as well as an object library of routines which may be invoked from within user processes. OptiServer includes the OptiFile® II device driver, which permits rewritable and WORM optical disks to appear to the operating systems as magnetic disks.
