MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA), an international organization dedicated to delivering storage networking architectures, education and solutions for the IT community, announced today that more than 40 storage networking companies will gather at the Storage Networking World (SNW) conference in Orlando, Florida this week to stage the world's largest storage networking interoperability demonstration. The Interoperability and Solutions Demo is a regular highlight of the biannual conference and is organized by corporate members of the SNIA.

"We are providing attendees with storage solutions that are relevant to any IT environment," said Ed von Adelung, chairman of the SNIA Interoperability Committee that organizes the SNW Interoperability and Solutions Demo. "We are showing attendees many ways that an IT manager can build and manage a storage network. There is even a "SAN Playground" for those who want to roll up their sleeves and learn via a hands-on approach."

This fall's demonstration is divided into eight "solution areas," including: Orientation and Presentations; Designing and Building Your Storage Network; Protecting Your Data; Managing Your Storage Network; Leveraging Your Existing IP-Based Network; Securing Your Enterprise Data; Emerging Technologies; and Hands-On SANs: Storage Area Network (SAN) Playground. The themes of the solution areas map to tutorials that are being presented by the SNIA Education Committee during the conference, so that attendees can learn concepts in the classroom as well as in a lab environment through the demonstration.

SNIA member companies participating in the demonstration include: Adaptec, Agilent, Akara, AppIQ, BMC Software, Brocade, Chaparral Network Storage, CIENA Corporation, Cisco Systems, CNT, CommVault Systems, Computer Associates, Crossroads Systems, Decru, EMC Corporation, Empirix, Emulex Corporation, Eurologic Systems, Fujitsu Softek, HP, Hitachi Data Systems, IBM Corporation, INRANGE Technologies, Intel Corporation, InterSAN, KOM Networks, Legato Systems, LSI Logic Storage Systems, McDATA, Microsoft, NEC Corporation, NeoScale Systems, Netreon, Network Appliance, Nortel Networks, Overland Storage, QLogic, Quantum Corporation, SANRAD, Spectra Logic Corporation, StoreAge Networking Technologies, Sun Microsystems, Texas Memory Systems, VERITAS Software, Vicom Systems, Vormetric, and XIOtech.
