Separately, Vixel announced an agreement with NEC, whereby NEC will bundle Vixel's 2100 Zoning Management Hub with its Express5800 series servers.
OTG Software announced the availability of DiskXtender for Unix and DiskXtender for Linux, both of which provide access to unlimited storage of critical business data from the desktop, corporate intranets, or the Web. Separately, OTG has joined JNI's SANpartners program, whereby OTG will certify-through rigorous interoperability testing-its SANXtender and DiskXtender 2000 with JNI's host bus adapters.
Inrange Technologies has acquired Waltham, MA-based Prevail Technology, a professional services company that designs and implements high-availability solutions for IT infrastructures and e-business environments. SCH Technologies has expanded its AlphaStor product suite to include "out-of-the-box" support for Legato's Net-Worker backup products. AlphaStor enables Legato customers to share tape devices and libraries across multiple NetWorker backup servers or data zones.
CreekPath Systems has received about $23 million in funding from TeleSoft Partners, Sequel Venture Partners, and Exabyte, which will be used to finance continued product development. Emulex announced that its LightPulse SBus LP8000S host bus adapters have been awarded the Solaris Ready certification from Sun for SunSPARC enterprise servers. The certification program recognizes "best-of-breed" products that have passed testing criteria defined and controlled by Sun. Separately, Legato Systems announced a cooperative agreement with Sun, whereby Legato will provide backup solutions to Sun's e-business customers that ensure access to mission-critical data. Sun will also continue to sell and support Legato's NetWorker, under the brand name "Solstice Backup."
EMC has qualified Pathlight Technology's SAN Gateway complete storage networking solutions as EMC E-Lab Tested. The qualification program is part of the EMC E-Infostructure Interoperability Program. To achieve the designation, SAN Gateway had to successfully complete EMC's stress-testing program. Separately, CommVault Systems and Pathlight announced the certification of the CommVault Galaxy Enterprise 2000 data and storage management software suite with Pathlight's SAN Gateway. This certification ensures customers can take advantage of the benefits of LAN-free backup in open systems environments when using storage area networking architecture.
